As a teenager I was a pretty good pianist. I was also already an enthusiastic advocate for modern music. In 1983 I started typing and quit practicing the piano, and my inability to play well today is a great source of regret. For vanity and documentation, and because some of the pieces I played aren't widely available, I've decided to put up some performances from my two high school recitals, when I was 16 and 17, plus a couple of my chamber performances at Oberlin and one at Orchestra Hall in Chicago in 1980.
